The School of Humanities and Social Sciences in the College of Liberal Arts and Convergence Science at KAIST (Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology) invites applications for four tenure-track positions in the areas of (1) Sociology, (2) Communication, (3) TESOL/Applied Linguistics (possible to manage an EFL program), and (4) Environmental Studies (limited to Social Sciences only).
We are particularly interested in junior scholars of outstanding promise, who are interested in developing interdisciplinary research programs as an adjunct professor at other departments. A successful candidate will have a doctorate in his/her relevant discipline and will also be able to provide evidence of outstanding research and excellence in teaching.
KAIST is an internationally-recognized, government-funded research university based in South Korea. As a rapidly expanding global institution, KAIST mandates English as the primary language of instruction. KAIST is an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer. International scholars nationals are welcome. Salaries and benefits are comparable to those of major American universities and negotiable depending on qualifications. In addition, on- or off-campus housing will be provided as well as subsidy for settlement expenses and start-up funding for research. Positions will begin in March 2020.
