디지털인문사회과학부에서는 미국 오하이오주립대학의 조경철 교수님(계량심리학)을 모시고 “Structured Factor Analysis: A Data Matrix-Based Alternative Approach to Structural Equation Modeling”라는 주제로 특별 강연을 개최합니다. 관심있는 분들의 많은 참여 바랍니다.

■ 세미나 개요 : This talk aims to explain one of the latest Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) techniques: Structured Factor Analysis (SFA). SEM have been widely used in behavioral and social science to statistically test hypotheses involving latent constructs, such as self-esteem and social trust. However, Jöreskog’s covariance structure analysis, which has been considered a standard SEM technique, has two fundamental limitations: it occasionally produces improper solutions (e.g., negative variance) and does not allow for making probabilistic inferences for latent construct scores. SFA, recently proposed by Cho & Hwang, addresses these issues and demonstrated its practical utility through empirical research. This talk will provide a brief overview of this up-to-date SEM method along with its associated software, SFA Prime.
