The School of Humanities and Social Sciences, College of Cultural Science at Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), invites applications for tenure-track or tenured positions to begin in Fall 2008 or earlier. Planning to build interdisciplinary graduate programs, the School welcomes the candidates with strong interest in interdisciplinary research and teaching, in particular, those willing and able to collaborate with science and engineering faculty. The position is open with respect to field or specialty, though candidates specializing in law, science journalism, communication, cultural anthropology, or cognitive science are particularly welcome.

Qualifications for the positions include: Ph. D., evidence of excellence in teaching, strong scholarship, and promise for outstanding research. Salary and benefits are comparable to major American universities and negotiable depending on qualifications (assistant professor salaries range around US$70,000 including benefits). Note also that on-campus or off-campus housing is provided.

KAIST is a top-notch, government-funded higher educational institution in South Korea with strong undergraduate and graduate programs in natural sciences, engineering, and management.
